How do I know if my ski boots fit?

Fitting your Ski Boots

It is very important that your ski boots fit appropriately. If they do not, you can end up with serious foot and ankle injuries. Getting the right pair can be done in a store or on the internet. If you plan on purchasing your ski boots on the internet, you will probably get a better deal.

Measure your foot in accordance with the instructions provided from the manufacturer whether it be technica, rossignol or head ski boots. While getting the right size is not very difficult, once you get the boots home, make sure they are comfortable. Ski boots are not designed for walking long distances, but make sure you can bend forward and back. With the right pair of ski boots, you are certain to have a more comfortable ski experience.

I have to say trying to measure your own foot to the same level of precission as a boot fitter is destined to fail. My advice would be to ask others not what boots they think are best but which bootfitter. A trained knowledgable bootfitter will guide you to the right boot for your ability, foot shape and skiing aspirations and will then go on to customise the fit to your requirements. as for buying boots always do it in your home town so you can go back to the shop if you think things have gone wrong.
